Dear Tim, a long time ago I learned a phrasal verb I think it might be a synonym to the one you’ve just taught us: “to zip through” a text. I found this meaning for it: “to read fast without focus on details. Are GLANCE THROUGH (a text) and ZIP THROUGH (a text) synonyms? I ask because the idea sounds the same: you read a text in a fast way, without focusing on details in order to find something you’re looking for or just to have a general idea of it. Like the skimming process. What do you think? Thanks in advance!
Hello, Patricia. Yes, they are basically synonmys. However, “zip through” is more idiomatic (informal).
