  After the verb “avoid”, always use a gerund (with -ing).

Hi Tim,

I want to share a real message I received from our American friends on WhatsApp. There was a power outage here and a guy said, just after the energy was restored:

“The beer will remain cold!”

And the other guy went:

“You mean you didn’t drink it all yesterday to keep it from getting hot?”
