Eu usei a frase “I can’t help” para dizer: “Não é minha culpa que eu sou bom!” Também usei a mesma frase “I can’t help” para dizer: “Eu não consigo parar de comer chocolate.” O que o “I can’t help” (“Eu não consigo ajudar”) tem a ver com as sentenças acima? Ouça o mini-podcast para aprender essa expressão comum em inglês!

Hi Tim,
I have some questions, please:
Rest & Review #4:
* “as to when” she’s coming home – I’ve never seen this sentence – “as to when”?
* what’s the difference between Agenda and Timetable? I remember like 3 years ago, we were having a business presentation to an American (who was joining us from the Headquarter), and a laid put in the first slides “Timetable”, instead of “Agenda” – making reference about what we were about to present, you know? For example:
* Introduction
* Performance
* Business Review
* Summary
* Takeaway
We realized the guy was kind of “curious” about timetable.
Hi, Cassius.
Usually we don’t use “agenda” for a schedule. “Agenda” is more a “pauta” (in Portuguese) or matters to be discussed, etc. A Timetable is “a schedule showing a planned order or sequence”.
“as to” means “quanto a”, “a respeito de”, “para”
Great! Thanks, Tim.
So, “as to” could be replaced sometimes by “with regards” or “regarding”?
E.g.: “Regarding this project, have you done that? or “As to this project, have you done that”?
Hello Everybody,
I was studying some idioms, and I’ve found this one: “make a pig of yourself.”
Look at the following sentence:
“They were so simple but so good! I COULDN’T HELP but make a PIG OF MYSELF and eat them by the handful”.
So, here we can find the expressions:
* “Make a pig of oneself” (myself, yourself, themselves, etc…): overeat (informal) – eat way too much!
* And of course, the expression “I can’t help” – used for saying that someone cannot stop themselves from doing something, and in this example/sentence above, conjugated in the past: “I couldn’t help.”
Hope that helps!
Thank you for sharing that with our group here, Cassius! The food must have been delicious! 😀
Yes, it was amazing!
Was it Five Guys? 😀

I cant help it thinking about she
