Another great podcast! Very interesting stuff about Black Friday. It is important – and fun – to get to know a little bit more about this new trend that has taken Brazil by storm 🙂 Oh, and in Portuguese we also have a verb (cunhar) that means both “to make coins” and “to invent new words or phrases”.

Tim, As you Know I was fired and my budget was in the red. But, as you also know I got a new job, so I hope my budget will be in the black before the end of the year. Please could you teach me how to say in English: “colocar as contas em ordem” ou “liquidar as dívidas”? Thanks.

  colocar as contas em ordem = catch up on my bills; get my budget in order; etc.

My person budget is in the black. I’m a money-saving personal and I only buy what I can pay in cash (not really). This is one of my mottos.
