Eggplant: Hey, I’m not Barney! Dude, is this part of the _________ or what?

  • geez, exclamação – um “minced oath” (explicação em outro post – aguarde!)
  • Who crapped in your cornflakes? = literalmente, “Quem ‘fez cocô’ (para não usar uma palavra mais forte) no seu ‘sucrilhos’? = Quem te deixou tão irritado?

Jigsaw: Right. Now, Orange, so far you’ve made a living annoying people. Society would call you a nuisance, I would call you an abomination.

  • so far = até agora
  • made a living = ganhou a vida
  • annoying people = irritando pessoas
  • would call you = te chamaria
  • nuisance = chateação, perturbação, irritação

Orange: Yeah! And I’d call you clown face.

  • clown face = cara de palhaço

Jigsaw: What?

Orange: You look like somebody smeared mashed potatoes on a mime.

  • you look like = parece como (se)
  • smeared = borrou
  • mashed potatoes = purê de batata
  • mime = mímico

Jigsaw: That’s enough!

Orange: You’re kind of emo aren’t you?

Jigsaw: No, I’m not emo.

Orange: You’re an emo clown!

Jigsaw: Listen, the device you are attached to is a death trap; it’s hooked up to a timer, if you do not locate the key in time you will …

  • attached to (= hooked up to, informal) = conectado a
  • death trap = armadilha de morte
  • locate = localizar, encontrar
  • in time = a tempo

Orange: You mean this key right here?

you mean = você quer dizer?

Jigsaw: What the…!? Where did you get that?

  • What the…? – Ele começou a dizer, “What the heck?” = Que diabos?!
  • get = pegar ~ Where did you get that? = Onde você pegou/conseguiu isso?

Orange: I don’t know!

Jigsaw: That’s just great! You totally ruined the game!

  • ruined = arruinou, estragou

Orange: Your game sucks! Let’s play Yahtzee.

  • sucks = é (muito) chato

Jigsaw: I hate Yatzee.

Orange: Jenga?

Jigsaw: No!

How do you say “por essa eu não esperava” in English?” Observe the last sentence in the dialogue.

  • He never saw that one coming!

He never saw that one coming” é uma expressão que literalmente diz “Ele nunca viu essa chegando!” É uma expressão equivalente a dizer em português: “Por essa ele não esperava.”

Neste diálogo é uma brincadeira com palavras, pois a palavra “saw”, além de ser o passado de “see” (ver), também significa “serra”.
