Let’s practice!
Make a request using “may” or “can” in the comments section below.
Hello Tim, how are you??
Unfortunately I’m not your student, but, May I watch you class??
I wish you were my student! You seem to be a good one!
May I use your eraser?
Sure! Here it is!
I can pray for you. So may I pray for you?
Sure! Please, do!
Excellent class Tim! Thanks! But, May I ask you a question?
E para pedir algo para alguém, por exemplo, ao pedir para uma comissária de bordo para que me trouxesse um suco de laranja, eu poderia pedir usando a expressão “Please, could you bring to me an orange juice?”, ou teria uma outra forma de fazer esse pedido?
Thanks a lot and have a nice weekend!
Hello, Emerson. Yes, you can say it that way. Or “Could I have a glass of orange juice?”
Perfect Tim! Thanks!
Excellent class, teacher!
May I use my cell phone to study english?
Of course you may! 🙂
Hi, Friend! May I talk to you now?
Sure. As soon as I finish class.
I can’t fix your car, but may I help you remove it from the street?
Yes, please. Thanks for the help! 🙂
Hellow Teacher,
I can Run Very fast, but I may need you Teacher Tim
You’re not allowed to run in the school hallway though! 🙂
I can see a butterfly. May I use your camera to take a photo?
Sure! Here it is!
Hi, Tim. May I turn on the air conditioner?
Sure! Please do!
Bom dia Professor. Em complemento a questão do amigo Emerson, poderia me esclarecer qual a melhor forma de fazer um pedido de comida ou algo em uma loja? Fazendo uma tradução literal eu já usei no passado I would like a bottlle of water e agora uso Can I have a bottlle of water. Entretanto fiquei na dúvida se o correto seria usar May I have a bottlle of water.
Obrigado e parabéns pelos Podcast.
Olá, João! Obrigado pela pergunto. Vou fazer um episódio sobre isso então; que tal?
Muito legal. Com certeza será muito esclarecedor e ajudará no dia a dia deste turista!!!! Obrigado.
I agree Tim! I have some doubts about this.
Hi Tim,
I’ve got a question, couldn’t I use “Could I” to asking for permission either? plus other ones, more polite I believe , like… “would you mind… it’s ok if I”….etc…??
We’ll talk about that in our next episode; OK?
sure, thank you, Tim!!
May we bring Snoopy to meet Ruby? 🙂 🙂
Will they behave? hahaha
May I use your motorcycle today ? my car is not ready !
