Quando fazemos uma pergunta pedindo permissão em inglês devemos usar o modal may ou can? Ou qualquer um dos dois? Vamos falar sobre isso no mini-podcast de hoje.

E para pedir algo para alguém, por exemplo, ao pedir para uma comissária de bordo para que me trouxesse um suco de laranja, eu poderia pedir usando a expressão “Please, could you bring to me an orange juice?”, ou teria uma outra forma de fazer esse pedido?

Bom dia Professor. Em complemento a questão do amigo Emerson, poderia me esclarecer qual a melhor forma de fazer um pedido de comida ou algo em uma loja? Fazendo uma tradução literal eu já usei no passado I would like a bottlle of water e agora uso Can I have a bottlle of water. Entretanto fiquei na dúvida se o correto seria usar May I have a bottlle of water.

I’ve got a question, couldn’t I use “Could I” to asking for permission either? plus other ones, more polite I believe , like… “would you mind… it’s ok if I”….etc…??
