We don’t usually use a preposition with “home”. However, you can say it like that, but in that case, “home” would become a noun. It would be similar to saying, “Fique dentro de casa”.
I stayed at home on January first. And it is going to happen in January 01st , 2021 because I prefer to stay home to stay outside while Corona virus is around.

Very good, Lucy. Just remember that “to” is a preposition; so you will need to say: I prefer staying home to being outside.
