Can I use ” to the school? Or just “to school”? I saw that you used “to the mall”.

  If you are a student, you usually “go to school”. It’s just the way we usually say it. You might say “go to the school” if you are emphasizing the building, as in “I need to go to the school and talk to the teacher.”
